The corpse awakens! Swedish classic death metal machine LIK returns to the Czech Republic with their brand-new album Necro, and they’re coming not just for one, but two shows — this April they’ll perform at Kabinet Múz in Brno and Modrá Vopice in Prague. Come pay tribute to true Swedish death metal with a band formed by legends of the scene.

LIK hail from Stockholm and were founded in 2014. Their name means “corpse” in Swedish, perfectly reflecting their raw, gritty style. The founding members — Tomas Åkvik, Niklas “Nille” Sandin, Joakim “Myre” Antman, and Chris Barkensjö — are seasoned veterans who previously played in bands like Katatonia, Grave, or Bloodbath, giving LIK a strong foundation of experience and musicianship from day one.

LIK’s music is a tribute to classic Swedish death metal (“Swedeath”), defined by the iconic HM-2 guitar tone and crushing growls. Their debut Mass Funeral Evocation was released in 2015 via War Anthem Records. They later signed to Metal Blade Records, under which they released Carnage (2018), Misanthropic Breed (2020), and the newly announced Necro (2025).

Their fourth album Necro, set for release on April 18, 2025, is described as a horror-ridden ride full of blood, destruction, and apocalypse — with lyrics about war, death, zombies, and murder. The band recorded at Necromorbus Studio in Söderfors, once again working with producer Lawrence Mackrory, just like on their previous albums. By using a “live as possible” recording method — minimal editing and a focus on capturing their raw stage energy — LIK preserve the authenticity and power that fans praise as the true essence of old-school death metal.
