SHALLOW WAVES, M.A.C. OF MAD, BOLEHLAV - Praha
14 / 12 / 2025 / PRAHA / CROSS
Canadian post-punkers Shallow Waves, blending strong influences of techno, industrial, and noise, are heading to Prague’s Cross Club this December! Come join them in searching for beauty within noise and chaos. Supporting acts for the evening will be Czech projects Bolehlav and M.A.C. of Mad.
Hailing from Toronto, Canada, Shallow Waves create music that lives on the edge between post-punk, noise rock, industrial, and techno. It’s a sound that doesn’t try to please – instead, it pulls the listener into a vortex of distorted guitars, hypnotic rhythms, and vocals oscillating between defiance and despair. The band’s lyrics reflect a world full of inner conflicts, alienation, and dissatisfaction with modern life. Their songs aren’t an escape – they’re a mirror held up to reality, capturing everything from anxiety and depression to grotesque imagery infused with dark humor. This isn’t background music – it’s an experience that makes you linger on the edge between discomfort and fascination.
In recent years, Shallow Waves have pushed their sound even further into experimental and industrial territories. Tracks like “No Devotion” prove the band isn’t afraid to take risks and explore new directions, drawing inspiration from the moods of The Soft Moon or the raw energy of Ministry. Their recordings feel like sonic collages where chaos and intensity transform into something unexpectedly cathartic – music that unsettles you, yet somehow purifies you in the process.
Bolehlav is a new rising name on the Czech electro-industrial scene. Despite their relatively short existence, they’ve already managed to captivate audiences across Europe and gain recognition from the cult label Audio Trauma. Expect fractured beats, neurotic guitars, and relentless rhythm.
M.A.C. of Mad, a Prague-based band active since the mid-1990s, fuses extreme metal and grindcore with industrial electronics and noise elements. Their recent material shows a fearless evolution, expanding their original sound palette with breakcore synths and experimental sonic textures.
