MAYHEM, MARDUK, IMMOLATION, INFERNO, MALLEPHYR - Praha

21 / 02 / 2026 / PRAHA / VÝSTAVIŠTĚ - KŘIŽÍKŮV PAVILON C

The black metal event of the winter is here! The living Norwegian black metal legend Mayhem will perform as part of their European tour at Pavilion C of Prague Exhibition Grounds, with Sweden’s armored division Marduk as special guests and U.S. death metal icons Immolation providing support.

Mayhem are among the most controversial yet most influential bands of the Norwegian black metal scene. Formed back in 1984, they went against all conventions from the very start—both musically and in their image. Their early work was raw, chaotic, and dark, emphasizing nihilism and despair. The band quickly became a symbol of extreme music and underground authenticity but also gained infamy for the tragedies around them—most notably the suicide of vocalist Dead in 1991 and the murder of guitarist Euronymous two years later.

Despite these dark chapters, Mayhem managed to stay on the scene and gradually built their legendary status. Albums such as De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas and Grand Declaration of War are today considered milestones of the genre, whether for their crushing rawness or their experimental approach to black metal. Today, Mayhem operate with respect for their own history while still evolving—their releases continue to spark discussion and prove they remain one of the most essential bands in extreme music.

Formed in 1990 with the goal of being “the most blasphemous band in the world,” Swedish black metal act Marduk are known for relentless speed, aggressive riffs, and dark, war-inspired themes. This quickly earned them a reputation as one of the most extreme bands in the genre. Albums such as Panzer Division Marduk and Heaven Shall Burn… When We Are Gathered stand as essential pillars of 1990s black metal, while their newer records show their ability to balance brutal intensity with atmospheric moments. On stage, Marduk are synonymous with absolute dedication and energy, securing their long-standing position among the elite of global extreme metal.

One of the most respected and influential bands in death metal, Immolation are defined by dark, technically intricate riffs, complex song structures, and a deeply unsettling atmosphere, often paired with lyrics reflecting religious critique and existential themes. With albums such as Close to a World Below and Kingdom of Conspiracy, Immolation built a reputation for combining brutal intensity with intellectual depth, making them beloved by both death metal purists and new fans of extreme music alike.

We’re announcing the Czech support! Two cult domestic acts — Inferno and Mallephyr — will join the lineup alongside the world’s black metal legends.

Hailing from Karviná, Inferno have been shaping their underground black metal identity since their formation in 1995. Musically rooted in the classic black metal tradition, their lyrical themes have evolved over time to include metaphysics, gnosis, and introspection. Both their sound and lineup have shifted through the years, but aggression and darkness remain constant — as does the band’s central figure, vocalist Adramelech. For nearly 30 years, Inferno have stood as one of the most distinctive forces in the Czech black metal scene, and this February they’ll prove why once again.

Formed in 2013 in Rokycany, Mallephyr deliver uncompromising death/black metal, merging the rawness of death metal with the chilling atmosphere of black metal. Their lyrics revolve around themes of misanthropy, nihilism, and anti-religious views. In a recent interview, the band hinted that their lyrical and visual concepts reflect “the deep and ever-deeper emptiness of the self” — not a struggle between good and evil, but an exploration of existential decay and nihilistic darkness.
