MORBIDFEST is coming back to Czech! As part of this iconic club tour, three titans of death metal will take over Fléda in Brno on December 9th: Possessed, Terrorizer, and Massacre. When you hear the words “death/thrash metal legend,” many of us instantly think of Possessed. These pioneers have been crushing stages worldwide since 1983 and are widely regarded as one of the first bands to define the death metal genre. Although the band went silent during the 1990s, frontman Jeff Becerra — who has been in a wheelchair since a 1989 attack — resurrected the band and became an iconic figure in the scene. Their comeback was crowned by Revelations of Oblivion (2019), an album that reaffirmed their legendary status and proved that even after three decades, they remain crushingly relevant.

Next up are Terrorizer, another cornerstone of extreme music. In the mid-1980s, they laid the foundation for grindcore and death metal. Their debut album World Downfall (1989), recorded with drummer Pete Sandoval, guitarist Jesse Pintado, and bassist David Vincent, remains an absolute grindcore classic and a major influence on an entire generation of bands. Despite long breaks and lineup changes, Terrorizer have repeatedly returned with new material, and their raw, devastating sound continues to embody relentless intensity and an uncompromising worldview.

Rounding out this trio of American legends, Massacre hail from Florida, with roots stretching back to the early 1980s—the dawn of the Florida death metal scene. Over the years, the band has featured musicians who played key roles in other legendary acts, including Kam Lee (Death, Mantas) and Rick Rozz (Death). Despite frequent lineup changes and long periods of inactivity, Massacre’s name still commands respect among fans of classic death metal. They remain a vital link in the chain that shaped the unique sound of the Florida scene.

Balancing the lineup are two heavy hitters from other continents. Greece’s Nightfall bring their distinctive blend of death, doom, and gothic metal, enriched with dark atmospheres and melodic arrangements since the early ’90s. Meanwhile, Chile’s ATER will deliver a taste of South American extremity — brutal yet atmospheric.
