04 / 03 / 2026 / PRAHA / PALÁC AKROPOLIS

The German industrial rock/metal powerhouse KMFDM is returning to the Czech Republic! Experience their raw sound fused with crushing guitars, heavy beats, and provocative lyrics on March 4th at Palác Akropolis!

KMFDM was founded in 1984 by Sascha Konietzko. The name is an acronym for the slogan Kein Mehrheit Für Die Mitleid (“No majority for compassion”)—often misinterpreted as “No Pity for the Majority.” Starting out on Hamburg’s underground electronic scene, the band quickly rose to become pioneers of industrial music, blending harsh electronic sounds with metal guitars, pounding beats, and provocative, often politically charged lyrics.

In the 1990s—particularly after moving to the U.S.—KMFDM broke through on the American market. Albums like Angst (1993), Nihil (1995), and Symbols (1997) became cult classics thanks to their energy, unmistakable fusion of electronics, metal, and industrial dance elements, as well as their unique visual style—iconic cover art by illustrator A. Tomić, known as Brute!. KMFDM have never shied away from controversy, whether in music, imagery, or public statements.

Still going strong today, the band boasts over 20 studio albums. Their sound is defined by infectious yet heavy riffs, rhythmic samples, alternating male and female vocals, and a commitment to high-energy live shows. With a devoted global fanbase and a mix of sarcasm, political commentary, and dance-metal energy, KMFDM remain one of the most distinctive and longest-running bands in the history of industrial music.
