CRADLE OF FILTH, SUFFOCATION, MÉLANCOLIA , NARAKA - Plzeň

22 / 11 / 2025 / PLZEŇ / ŠEŘÍKOVKA

The British dark metal icons Cradle of Filth will return to the Czech Republic this November, performing at Plzeň’s Šeříkovka Club. If you crave a fusion of extreme metal, gothic aesthetics, and theatrical performance, this is a show you simply cannot miss! Joining them as special guests will be none other than American death metal legends Suffocation.

Formed in Suffolk, England, in 1991, Cradle of Filth have built a reputation as one of the most distinctive acts within the realm of symphonic black metal — though their music often transcends labels, blending elements of death metal, thrash, gothic rock, and even classical music. Fronted by the charismatic Dani Filth, the band has long rejected strict genre categorization, carving out a unique identity both musically and visually. Their lyrics draw heavily on themes of horror, Victorian literature, eroticism, and the occult — influences that permeate both their albums and their famously elaborate stage productions.

The band debuted in 1994 with The Principle of Evil Made Flesh, but it was later releases such as Dusk and Her Embrace (1996) and Cruelty and the Beast (1998) that cemented their place on the global metal scene. Over the years, Cradle of Filth have undergone numerous lineup changes, yet Dani Filth has remained the driving creative force. Their music is celebrated for its ability to merge brutal heaviness with melodic passages, choral arrangements, and rich narrative concepts, earning them a devoted worldwide following. The band also carries a strong Czech connection, with drummer Martin "Marthus" Škaroupka and guitarist Marek "Ashok" Šmerda currently in the lineup.

Despite the controversies that have often surrounded them — whether due to provocative merchandise or the use of religious symbolism — Cradle of Filth have maintained their status as a cult icon. Their live performances are renowned for their striking visual design, costumes, stage effects, and the immersive gothic atmosphere they create. More than three decades into their career, they remain one of the most talked-about and influential bands in extreme metal.

The evening’s support will come from none other than the American death metal legends Suffocation — a name that needs little introduction to Czech audiences. Known and beloved for their uncompromising, technically precise, and brutally heavy sound — complete with crushing breakdowns — Suffocation are set to deliver an intense and unforgettable performance at Šeříkovka.

The Australian formation Mélancolia stands among the most striking forces in contemporary deathcore. Their music fuses brutal breakdowns with elements of black metal, industrial sounds, and orchestral arrangements, creating a suffocating, cinematic, and apocalyptic atmosphere. The band fearlessly explores themes of pain, death, and mental decay, delivering them with aesthetic precision and emotions teetering on the edge of madness.

The French band Naraka operates at the crossroads of modern black and death metal, enriched with industrial touches and cinematic grandeur. Their sound is dark, monumental, and meticulously constructed, emphasizing the contrast between aggression and atmosphere. Since their formation in 2019, they’ve consistently proven their ability to merge extreme metal with modern production and visual aesthetics. The result is an intense, visionary form of darkness that strikes with equal power both live and on record.
