Flotsam and Jetsam are thrash metal icons from Phoenix, Arizona, who have won fans worldwide with their aggressive, technically refined sound and the unmistakable vocals of Eric "A.K." Knutson. Formed in 1981, the band quickly became one of the pioneers of the genre. Their debut album, Doomsday for the Deceiver (1986), made history as the only album to receive a perfect 6/5 rating in the legendary Kerrang! magazine—proof of its exceptional quality and timeless appeal.

Over the years, the band has undergone several lineup changes, with one of their earliest bassists being Jason Newsted, who later joined Metallica. Despite these shifts, Flotsam and Jetsam have always maintained their signature sound, built on ferocious riffs, strong melodies, and technical precision. Their discography showcases both the raw energy of their early albums and the more modern production of recent releases such as The End of Chaos (2019) and Blood in the Water (2021), proving that even after four decades, the band has lost none of its power.
