The Finnish band Wolfheart, centered around the charismatic multi-instrumentalist Tuomas Saukkonen, has become synonymous with epic melodic death metal focused on themes of Nordic nature, winter, and war over the past 13 years. Saukkonen's creative potential is best reflected in the cadence with which Wolfheart releases albums. Last year, they released their eighth studio album, Draconian Darkness, which they will bring on their European tour this fall, including stops in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. With this latest addition to their extensive discography, Wolfheart continues to embrace more symphonic elements, while maintaining their signature formula of sharp guitar riffs and typical melancholic brutality.
