Swedish masters of melancholy KATATONIA are returning to Brno. Grey skies, progressive doom-rock elegance and the unmistakable voice of Jonas Renkse will take over Fléda on April 3, 2027. The evening will open with Australian post-punk outfit Bonnie Trash.

Since their formation in 1991, KATATONIA have undergone a fascinating musical evolution. Originally a death-doom project founded by Jonas Renkse and Anders Nyström, defined by cult albums such as Dance of December Souls and Brave Murder Day (featuring Mikael Åkerfeldt of Opeth), the band gradually left their signature growls behind and transformed their darkness into sophisticated progressive rock. Discouraged Ones marked a turning point, followed by milestones such as Last Fair Deal Gone Down and The Great Cold Distance, which helped shape the band's modern sound: meticulous atmospheric arrangements, layered guitars and an instantly recognisable, hauntingly clean vocal style. With their latest releases, KATATONIA continue to prove that depression and despondency can possess a crystal-clear sound and immense songwriting power.

Opening the evening will be Australian outfit BONNIE TRASH. The sister duo of Emmalia and Sarafina Visic bring a fresh perspective to dark music, blending post-punk, gothic rock and drone doom. Their sound combines heavy guitar riffs with elements of Italian folklore and horror storytelling, as showcased on their debut album Malocchio. Raw rhythms, feedback-drenched guitars and dramatic vocals will set the perfect atmosphere for the night's headliners.
