MESHUGGAH: THE FORTY-YEAR ANOMALY W/ PERIPHERY AND VILDHJARTA - Praha
12 / 10 / 2027 / PRAHA / FORUM KARLÍN
Swedish pioneers MESHUGGAH defined a genre of their own and pushed the boundaries of what can be achieved in heavy music with eight-string guitars and polyrhythmic patterns. From the early thrash/progressive twists and turns of Contradictions Collapse, through the landmark Chaosphere, to the undisputed milestones Nothing and ObZen, they have built a sonic machine that runs like a Swiss watch. Jens Kidman’s vocals, the hypnotic riffs of Fredrik Thordendal and Mårten Hagström, and Tomas Haake’s inhuman rhythmic architecture form a monolith that crushes everything in its path on stage. Their latest album, Immutable, confirmed that the Swedish five-piece have lost none of their crushing power after decades on the scene. Combined with their iconic light show, their performance at Forum Karlín will deliver an overwhelming sonic and visual assault unlike anything else on the current scene.
PERIPHERY are among the leading names in modern progressive metal and key driving forces behind the djent movement. Led by guitar visionary Misha Mansoor and powered by Spencer Sotelo’s phenomenal vocal range, the band have mastered the art of combining virtuosic guitar madness, djent grooves, and irresistibly catchy pop-inspired melodies. Their discography — from their self-titled debut through the conceptual double album Juggernaut to the run of releases from Periphery II to Periphery V: Djent Is Not a Genre — represents a pinnacle of technical innovation and songwriting in contemporary progressive metalcore. Live, they deliver incredible energy, technical precision, and constant shifts between raw aggression and epic melodic passages, as they demonstrated at Brutal Assault 2026.
Completing the lineup are Swedish VILDHJARTA, pioneers and popularizers of the subgenre known as thall. Their music is an atmospheric labyrinth of downtuned guitars, fractured rhythms, dark ambient passages, and impenetrable silence shattered by sudden sonic collapses. Their cult debut Måsstaden and its follow-up, Måsstaden under vatten, draw listeners into a dark surrealist world where deathcore’s uncompromising brutality collides with progressive avant-garde.
