THULCANDRA, YOTH IRIA, VORGA - Praha

German melo-black/death metal outfit Thulcandra will head to Prague’s Futurum on March 13, 2027. Bringing the chilling legacy of Dissection and albums like Hail the Abyss to the stage, they’ll be joined by Greek mystics Yoth Iria and German cosmic black metal force Vorga.

Founded in 2003 by guitarist and vocalist Steffen Kummerer, German band Thulcandra stand as devoted guardians of the Swedish melodic black/death metal sound of the 1990s. Their music draws direct inspiration from genre-defining acts such as Dissection, Sacramentum, and Unanimated. From their debut album Fallen Angel’s Dominion to their latest release, Hail the Abyss, the band have built their sound around intricate twin-guitar harmonies, icy melodies, and sharp rhythmic shifts, creating a cohesive, dark atmosphere free from unnecessary modern influences.

Greek outfit Yoth Iria were formed in 2019 by seasoned underground veterans Magus Wampyr Daoloth (ex-Rotting Christ, Necromantia) and Mutilator (ex-Rotting Christ). Their music blends traditional Hellenic black metal with epic doom elements and dark mysticism. Their debut album As the Flame Withers and subsequent releases are defined by majestic keyboard arrangements, memorable guitar lines, and a distinctive occult atmosphere that draws on the roots of the classic Athens scene while maintaining a unique artistic identity.

German-international quartet Vorga bring a modern, dystopian take on cosmic black metal to the extreme metal scene. Since their early days, with albums such as Striving Toward Oblivion and Beyond the Palest Star, they have developed a sound built on cold precision, relentless speed, and dissonance evoking the emptiness and hostility of deep space. Their live performances stand out not only for their meticulously crafted instrumental structures but also for their distinctive visual aesthetic, including UV corpse paint, making each show a tightly focused and dynamic experience.
