The death metal celebration Morbidfest is returning to the Czech Republic! I Am Morbid will perform the A-D era of Morbid Angel, Atheist will celebrate 35 years of Unquestionable Presence, and Cancer will revisit the classic Death Shall Rise. This is pure death metal history. November 29 in Ostrava (Barrák), December 4 in Prague (Futurum). Tickets are on sale at obscure.cz!

I Am Morbid, led by frontman David Vincent, are bringing an exclusive set focused entirely on the formative foundations of Florida death metal. The set will draw from the first four landmark Morbid Angel albums – Altars of Madness, Blessed Are the Sick, Covenant and Domination. Songs such as “Immortal Rites”, “Rapture” and “God of Emptiness” helped define the genre, and in the hands of the band’s original voice and frontman, they will deliver the raw energy that reshaped the map of extreme music in the 1990s.

Florida visionaries Atheist will perform a special set celebrating the 35th anniversary of their seminal 1991 album Unquestionable Presence. Now considered a cult classic, the record helped lay the foundations of technical death metal, combining relentless speed with complex jazz-fusion structures and unexpected rhythmic twists. Guitar virtuosity, layered arrangements and songs such as “Mother Man” remain essential listening for fans of progressive metal.

British death metal outfit Cancer will also celebrate 35 years since the release of their groundbreaking album Death Shall Rise. Recorded at the legendary Morrisound Studio in Florida under the supervision of Scott Burns, with guitar solos contributed by James Murphy, the record stands among the rawest gems of the European death metal scene. Expect rugged, straightforward riffs, relentless speed and classics such as “Hung, Drawn and Quartered”.

The opening slots will showcase two distinct but equally intense sides of today’s extreme metal scene. In Ostrava, the lineup will be completed by Narcotic Wasteland, the project of Dallas Toler-Wade (ex-Nile), delivering highly technical brutal death metal at breakneck speed. The Prague show, meanwhile, will be opened by Czech outfit Stellvris, bringing a fierce modern metalcore sound packed with massive riffs and uncompromising vocal power.
