Progressive metal is in for a major celebration. Multi-genre titans Nevermore are back from the dead and will bring the masters of technical death metal, Rivers of Nihil, to MeetFactory on May 2, 2027. Opening the night with uncompromising sludge/metalcore will be the UK’s Urne. Get ready for a showcase of masterful riffs!

The iconic Seattle-based Nevermore have always stood confidently at the crossroads of technical thrash, progressive metal, and dark power metal. Led by riff architect Jeff Loomis, the band redefined the sound of seven-string guitars around the turn of the millennium, leaving behind genre-defining landmarks such as Dead Heart in a Dead World and This Godless Endeavor. Their music is the essence of dystopian melancholy and surgical precision, with few bands ever coming close to matching them in their field. The return of this cult act to European stages after so many years is without a doubt one of the most significant metal events of the decade.

Taking on the role of special guest on the tour is none other than Rivers of Nihil. The Pennsylvania innovators have been pushing the boundaries of technical death metal for years, seamlessly integrating jazz elements into their uncompromising blastbeats, including their prominent use of saxophone. They shook the scene to its core with their breakthrough album Where Owls Know My Name. Their precise blend of brutality and progressive ambition remains just as strong on the more complex The Work. This five-piece can be utterly crushing yet atmospherically fragile at the same time, making their live shows an incredibly dynamic experience.

The evening will kick off with the sheer force of London trio Urne, who operate at the crossroads of sludge, stoner, and sharp-edged metalcore. Their massive, filthy sound and relentless intensity caught the attention of Gojira’s Joe Duplantier, who took the band under his wing and personally produced their crushing record A Feast on Sorrow. Urne deliver raw emotion, heavyweight guitars, and unfiltered aggression that will have you firmly planted into the floor from the very first minutes of the night.
