BRUJERIA, CRIMINAL - Uherské Hradiště
14 / 03 / 2027 / UHERSKÉ HRADIŠTĚ / KLUB MÍR
The Mexican deathgrind cartel Brujeria are sharpening their machetes! This extreme outfit will be joined on their Czech run by Chilean thrash/death veterans Criminal. Two doses of raw Latin American aggression will tear through Club Mír in Uherské Hradiště on March 14, 2027, followed by Prague’s Futurum on March 15. Don’t miss out.
Brujeria formed in Los Angeles in the early ’90s as a project by musicians who cleverly built an aura around themselves as masked Mexican drug lords. Musically, the band carved out a filthy territory somewhere between primitive, savage deathgrind and crushing groove metal. Albums such as the cult debut Matando Güeros and the equally essential Raza Odiada remain benchmarks of sheer filth and sonic brutality to this day. Over the course of three decades, the band has featured genre heavyweights from Napalm Death, Carcass and Fear Factory, yet the essence of Brujeria has never changed: massively downtuned guitars, machine-gun blast beats and lyrics about cartels and corruption, barked exclusively in Spanish.
Chilean Criminal are no random choice for this tour’s support. Led by tireless guitarist and vocalist Anton Reisenegger (also known for Lock Up, Pentagram Chile and, somewhat ironically, currently Brujeria itself), the band represents the very best of South American thrash/death metal. Since their 1994 debut Victimized, they have honed an aggressive yet technically precise style that combines the wild ferocity of Latin America with the cold, riff-driven structures of European metal. Live, Criminal are an unstoppable bone-crushing machine that relies not on image, but on pure riff-fuelled destruction.
If old-school deathgrind and uncompromising thrash have a permanent place in your playlist, there’s nothing left to discuss. Come put your neck vertebrae to the test and brush up on your rough-and-ready Spanish.
