Canadian outfit Get the Shot have been tearing up the scene for more than a decade, building a reputation since their early days in the streets of Quebec as one of the hardest-working bands in the genre. While their roots are firmly planted in ’90s New York hardcore, Get the Shot have never settled for familiar formulas. Over the years, they have seamlessly incorporated elements of classic thrash and Florida death metal into their DNA, fully coming into their own on albums such as Infinite Punishment and their latest release, Merciless Destruction. The result is a dense, groove-driven sound powered by machine-gun riffs and the vocals of frontman Jean-Philippe, whose lyrics offer an uncompromising reflection of the social and political frustrations of the modern world.
