The quartet from Chiliomodi has come a long way since 2006—from underground basements to the main stages of Europe’s biggest festivals. They prove that the best “desert rock” doesn’t have to be born in California; it can just as easily emerge under the unforgiving Greek sun. Their sound is rooted in the foundations laid by genre titans like Kyuss and Sleep, but 1000mods inject it with their own brand of psychedelia and a raw edge reminiscent of ’90s Seattle.
