OH HIROSHIMA, BARRENS - Praha

20 / 10 / 2026 / PRAHA / 007 STRAHOV

Swedish melancholy set against the raw backdrop of Strahov’s Sedmička. Oh Hiroshima bring their atmospheric soundscapes and emotional crescendos, complemented by Barrens with their driven, instrumental post-rock infused with synths and darkness. Nordic precision and sonic depth in one.

Oh Hiroshima are no longer just “another post-rock band” from the north. Since their breakthrough album In Silence We Yearn, they’ve evolved toward a more layered sound where not only towering guitar walls take center stage, but also dynamic rhythm sections and occasional, delicately placed vocals—something not always typical for the genre. Their recent work, represented by Myriad and the latest All Things Shining, balances on the edge between dreamlike fragility and overwhelming intensity.

As a counterpoint, Barrens take the stage—a trio connected to the Swedish underground elite (including members of Scraps of Tape). Their debut Conditioned to Strike defined a sound rooted in post-rock but unafraid of grit, synthesizers, and near-industrial sharpness. Barrens don’t build endless soundscapes for daydreamers; their music feels more like a soundtrack to a concrete dystopia, where mechanical drums and distorted textures push relentlessly forward. Expect a set that leans closer to the rawness of post-metal than to dreamy shoegazing.
