Sweden’s Draconian have been refining their majestic gothic/doom metal since the mid-1990s and remain among the absolute elite of the genre. Their sound is built on the proven but perfectly honed contrast between the massive growls of Anders Jacobsson and the angelic soprano once again delivered by returning vocalist Lisa Johansson. Draconian have a rare ability to strike the precise point where crushing melancholy breaks into crystalline beauty—something they demonstrated on genre milestones like Arcane Rain Fell as well as on magnificent later works such as Under a Godless Veil. Expect slow, crushing tempos woven with guitar melodies that cut deep under the skin, all without the band ever slipping into cheap sentimentality.

The main support slot belongs to Copenhagen’s Saturnus, a band with undeniable cult status in the melodic death/doom scene. From their defining debut Paradise Belongs to You, through the masterpiece Veronika Decides to Die, to more recent entries like The Storm Within, the Danes have built a sound based on vast guitar landscapes and the unmistakable performance of Thomas A.G. Jensen. He seamlessly alternates between deep, down-tuned murmurs and captivating spoken word passages, giving the music an almost cinematic scope. Saturnus are not about speed—their strength lies in the overwhelming weight of atmosphere and the art of perfect compositional build-up.

Opening the evening will be Hungarian formation Ann My Guard, led by vocalist and bassist Eszter Anna Baumann. Their distinctive take on dark metal draws from heavy Sabbath-inspired riffs, 1990s alternative rock, and Babylonian mysticism. The band, which gained significant attention with acclaimed albums Ourania and Moira, relies on an earthy, raw sound dominated by Eszter’s mesmerizing vocal performance, blending heavy passages with almost folkloric ethereality.
