WHITECHAPEL, SYLOSIS, 200 STAB WOUNDS, TRIBAL GAZE - Praha
16 / 02 / 2027 / PRAHA / ROXY
The evolution of deathcore as delivered by Whitechapel is heading to Prague! The Knoxville titans will unleash their crushing intensity at Roxy on February 16. Joining them are British thrash/death powerhouse Sylosis, OSDM butchers 200 Stab Wounds, and the Texan steamroller Tribal Gaze. Dive into the mosh pit and ride it out until the bloody end.
Although Whitechapel weren’t afraid to experiment with clean vocals and emotional lyricism on The Valley and Kin, their current album Hymns in Dissonance marks a merciless return to pure sonic terror. The six-piece from Tennessee abandons melodic relief entirely, with Phil Bozeman once again relying solely on his trademark, devastating guttural delivery. The triple-guitar wall on the new record crushes bones with the same ferocity heard in the era of the cult classic This Is Exile, now backed by the technical maturity of a band that no longer needs to prove anything to anyone. Prague can expect a raw offensive with a clear killer instinct.
Main support comes from Sylosis, led with a firm hand by guitar virtuoso and frontman Josh Middleton. For more than a decade, the band has been a pillar of modern thrash and melodic death metal. Their sound is the essence of technical precision, razor-sharp riffs, and machine-gun tempos—something clearly demonstrated on their recent album A Sign of Things to Come. Middleton’s perfectionism makes them one of the tightest live bands on today’s scene.
A raw return to the roots will be delivered by 200 Stab Wounds from Ohio. They are currently considered one of the hottest acts in the American OSDM (old school death metal) revival. Their take on the genre is defined by a diseased guitar tone, crushing grooves, and a butcher-like aesthetic fully realized on the acclaimed releases Slave to the Scalpel and Manual Manic Procedures. This is pure sonic filth without any modern compromises, and it doesn’t pull any punches.
Opening the night will be the Texas outfit Tribal Gaze. If you enjoy heavy death metal passages infused with that unmistakable Texas hardcore bounce in the vein of Power Trip or Creeping Death, you’re in the right place. Their debut The Nine Choirs delivered riffs heavy as lead and an unyielding rhythm section guaranteed to make the club floor shake the moment the lights go down.
For fans of pure extremity without melodic compromises and lovers of old-school sonic filth, this lineup is a direct hit to the jugular. Roxy will undergo a serious structural stress test in mid-February—make sure you’re there.
