California’s Alien Ant Farm are far more than just a band tied to one famous cover song. Their music is a sophisticated blend of alternative metal and post-grunge that avoids easy categorization. With the distinctive and ever-shifting vocals of Dryden Mitchell alongside the band’s instrumental precision, they craft a sound that feels both heavy and melodically rich. Their debut Greatest Hits hinted at their direction, but it was the platinum-selling album ANThology (2001), featuring hits like Movies and Attitude, that cemented their place on the scene. AAF expertly combine complex rhythms — often mistakenly labeled as nu-metal — with catchy, pop-driven choruses.

That balance between heavy rock, post-grunge atmosphere, and funk rock influences — especially heard in their hyperactive hit Smooth Criminal — forms the essence of Alien Ant Farm. Later releases such as TruANT (2003) and Always and Forever (2015) retained the band’s strong melodic drive and lyrical depth, while further separating them from genre trends and solidifying their own energetic identity. Brno-based Rabies have been delivering honest, high-energy skatepunk since 2009, inspired by legends such as NOFX and Rancid. Throughout their career, they’ve taken over the stages of major festivals like Mighty Sounds and Punk Rock Holiday, while also sharing stages with international acts including Billy Talent and Anti-Flag. The band are currently at the peak of their powers — their latest album High on Sugar (2025) earned Album of the Year honors and a perfect score from Punk Rock Radar.
