A dark, oppressive and crushing sound that blends heavy riffs, drone-driven atmosphere and the kind of intensity you only find in Black Metal. Five the Hierophant are heading to Prague’s Modrá Vopice to deliver the very best of their craft. On March 12th!

Five the Hierophant is a British band from London, formed in 2014. Their music is difficult to confine to a single genre — it merges elements of doom metal, post-metal, black metal, ambient, jazz and experimental music. One of their signature traits is that their music is almost entirely instrumental — vocals are minimal or absent, giving full space to atmosphere and experimentation.

The band is known for its highly original sound: alongside the classic metal setup, they use unconventional instruments such as saxophone, string instruments, various types of drums, djembe, gongs and other percussive or atmospheric tools — pushing their music toward ambient, psychedelia and ritualistic soundscapes. Their work often feels hypnotic, dreamlike and bordering on pure experiment, without the typical structure of metal songwriting.

Their discography includes the notable debut album Over Phlegethon (2017), which already revealed the band’s direction — dark, psychedelic doom marked by weight and atmosphere. Another standout record is Through Aureate Void (2021), where the band pushed experimentation even further, resulting in sprawling, ambient, jazz-infused compositions without vocals. In 2024 they released their latest album Apeiron, showcasing the band at its most mature — rich instrumentation, deeply atmospheric, hypnotic and dreamlike sound.
